My journey through the world of writing and everything that lies in between…

Not much really to update about. Life’s been pretty ordinary, though busy.

I’m still working on finishing this first draft, although I’m really struggling with the end. I’m not sure how Naomi is going to escape her from her kidnappers, or how she’s going to even be found for that matter. I had some ideas, but then I realized that I’ll have to add back one of the POV characters that I originally deleted. So, now I get to go back throughout the book and put in those once deleted chapters again (good thing I still have the original draft that had them!). But that also means that I’m going to need to add them fairly soon for my critique group or they’re going to be seriously confused (as if I haven’t confused them enough with the constant midstream changes).

Oh well. I suppose I’ll just write what I have planned in the summary. Generally things change along the way as I’m actually writing the chapter, so maybe some epiphany will hit.

On the non-writing front, my next two weekends are going to be insane. Saturday is a rather unexpected wedding, which my husband just found out two weeks ago he was in. I only just found out the bride’s name three days ago! 😛 We get to be there bright and early at 8:45 in the morning. I’m so bringing a book to read while Phil is off doing the picture thing and I wait for the wedding to start 😛

After the wedding, I’ll be making a trip to this new bakery I found to pick up donuts for church. Actually, it’s not new, it’s been around since the 1960s, but I only just discovered it. They’re open 24 hours too! Not many bakeries are open all day like that. And they have the best donuts–I love their caramel nut glazed donuts. Anyway, I need to get a dozen donuts to bring to our “Sonrise Service” on Easter. Gotta admit, not looking forward to getting up at 7 a.m. (so NOT a morning person) but it’s once a year and it’s Easter so why not? 🙂

Next weekend is my writer’s conference in Cincinnati (Hamilton actually). Definitely not looking forward to getting up at 6 that morning 😛

Can I say I’m just looking forward to the next few weeks passing by quickly?

  1. Woohoo! A writer’s conference is always fun. 🙂
So maybe the kidnapper could have a heart attack. She steals his gun and shoots the other guys and voila! She’s free. 🙂

  2. lots going on in your world, real and fictional!!

have fun at the wedding; those donuts sound yummy! 🙂

  3. Have fun 🙂 Hope you find some time to relax in amongst all the business!

  4. Have fun at the writers conference. I wish there was one close enough to my house to go.

    I love donuts.

  5. I’m working out the details of my end too. I’m still writing in the middle, but thinking about how I can end the story well. I’m not an outliner and rather let the story unfold as I go, so I know your struggle.
